Agartala, July 24, 2023: In an initiative supported by the National Health Mission and led by the VHAT, a workshop on Antibiotic Resistance Management and Prevention was conducted at the Bhagat Singh Youth Housing in the capital city on Monday.
The inauguration of the workshop witnessed the presence of Minister Tinku Roy, Hari Dulal Acharya, the Sabhadipati of the Paschim Tripura Zilla Parishad and other dignitaries.
During the workshop’s inauguration ceremony, Minister Tinku Roy emphasized the importance of seeking medical advice and taking prescribed medications in case of any illness. He also mentioned that tree plantation activities were organized to commemorate World Environment Day on June 5.
However, the number of trees planted last year has not been maintained this year. Despite planting trees, there was a lack of planning to ensure their survival. Therefore, he urged for more efforts in tree conservation and protection.
The workshop served as a platform to discuss strategies to combat antibiotic resistance and promote responsible antibiotic use. Participants engaged in insightful discussions on the growing issue of antibiotic resistance and ways to prevent its spread.
Such workshops play a crucial role in raising awareness and enhancing the knowledge of healthcare professionals and the general public on the appropriate use of antibiotics to preserve their effectiveness in treating infections.
