Agartala, July 24, 2023: Road accidents seem to be an ever-present danger for residents of Barbil area in Khowai. Almost every day, mishaps on the roads continue to take place. On Monday afternoon, a collision between a bike and a scooter took place in front of the Shyamali Community Hall at Barbil area of Khowai sub-division. The incident resulted in serious injuries to both the bike and scooter riders.
The scooter rider, Ajit Debnath, suffered a broken right leg in the accident, while the bike rider, Saroj Bhattacharya, injured a finger on his right foot. Both individuals reside in the Barbil area of Khowai. The local residents informed the emergency services, and the injured were rushed to the Khowai District Hospital for immediate treatment.
Upon their arrival at the hospital, the injured were attended to by the medical staff. The duty doctors, Dr. Ajit Debnath and Dr. Saroj Bhattacharya, administered first aid and referred them to G.B. Hospital for further specialized treatment.
The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of road safety and responsible driving to prevent such accidents and protect lives on the roads. Authorities and communities need to work together to implement effective road safety measures to reduce the frequency of such unfortunate incidents.
