Agartala, 12th February 2025 : Youth Affairs and Sports minister Tinku Roy inaugurated the two-day Rangauti Choudda Devotar Fair today at the Choudda Devotar temple in Rangauti. Several dignitaries attended the event, including Amalendhu Das, Sabhadipati of Unakoti Zilla Parishad; Md Badrijamman, Vice-Chairperson of Gournagar Panchayat Samiti; Chapala Debroy, Chairperson, and Nitish Dey, Vice-Chairperson of Kailashahar Municipal Council; and Pradip Sarkar, SDM of Kailashahar Sub-Division.
Speaking at the event, Mr. Roy said that this spiritual fair is not limited to the state, as pilgrims from neighboring states also visit to experience its divine atmosphere. He described the fair as a blend of faith, tradition, and celebration that leaves a lasting impression on everyone. He also mentioned that the state government is working to improve infrastructure to make the site more accessible and significant for Sanatanis.
The Rangauti Fair is held every year during Maghi Purnima. Over time, this sacred land has become a center of spirituality, culture, and festivity. During these two days, the air is filled with the rhythmic chants of priests, the soft ringing of temple bells, and the distant echoes of devotional songs. The temple, decorated with glowing oil lamps, stands as the heart of the celebration, radiating a sense of divine peace.
