Agartala, August 09: A comprehensive review meeting encompassing the entire state was convened on Wednesday at Pragya Bhavan in the capital city, spearheaded by the Social Welfare and Social Education Department. The event witnessed the active participation of the SW&SE Minister Tinku Roy, Director of the department Smita Mol MS and several other dignitaries.

During the discussions held in the review meeting, Minister Tinku Roy underscored the necessity of providing training opportunities for Anganwadi workers, with the aim of enhancing their capabilities in effectively managing Anganwadi centers. The Chief Minister Matru Pusthi Upahar Yojana, a maternal welfare initiative, also came under the spotlight, with the minister advocating for its wider dissemination and increased public awareness. Additionally, he stressed the importance of promoting the Pradhan Mantri Matri Pusthi Yojana, a central government scheme aimed at maternal and child nutrition.

Minister Roy called for concerted efforts to identify and support vulnerable segments of the population, including individuals with disabilities, senior citizens, and women. Expressing concern over the continued lack of access to government benefits by many differently-abled individuals, he urged immediate attention to prioritize these issues.

The organized function saw the participation of not only the heads of the entire department but also other key officials, highlighting the government’s collective commitment to address vital social welfare challenges. As the meeting concluded, the government’s focus on training, welfare schemes, and targeted support remained at the forefront of efforts to uplift marginalized communities and ensure comprehensive social development.
