Agartala, 12th April 2026: Pradyot Kishore Manikya Debbarma, founder of the Tipra Motha Party, framed the ongoing Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) election as a decisive moment for the future of the tribal community, stressing that the electorate is effectively voting for the next generation’s rights and long-term survival.
After casting his vote in Mandwi under West Tripura, he highlighted a strong early voter turnout and expressed optimism that participation would remain high throughout the day. He also called for a peaceful electoral process, reflecting confidence in democratic engagement in the region.
Positioning the election as more than a routine political contest, Pradyot emphasized that voters would determine not just immediate governance but also the protection of their rights and identity for future generations. According to him, the outcome would reflect the people’s aspirations for dignity, development, and constitutional safeguards.
On concerns of electoral violence, he took a strong stance against criminal influence in politics, stating that he has no space for “goondas” in the political process. Referring to recent local incidents, he suggested that individuals with criminal backgrounds being fielded as candidates undermines democratic values, while indicating that he would address specific allegations after the election concludes.
