TJU forms Bamutia committee, announces leadership team

Agartala, 5th June 2025 :   The Tripura Journalists Union officially launched its Bamutia Committee today marking a new chapter for the organization. The event was attended by Tripura Journalists Union President Pranab Sarkar and other union members.

During the announcement, senior journalists were elected to key positions within the committee. Phani Bhushan Shil was appointed President while Bishal Chowdhury assumed the role of Secretary. Associate Secretary Bikram Roy, Treasurer Manojit Halder and members Tanmoy Sarkar, Amrit Sarkar and Gopal Debnath were also named as part of the leadership team.

President of the Tripura Journalists Union, Pranab Sarkar, extended his best wishes to the newly formed committee, expressing his commitment to supporting its initiatives. Addressing the media, the newly appointed President of the Bamutia Committee emphasized that the formation had received full approval from the Tripura Journalists Union. He reiterated the committee’s dedication to moving forward with the backing of local residents from Mohanpur and Bamutia, calling for collective cooperation in its efforts.

A press conference has been scheduled in Bamutia tomorrow to formally outline the committee’s vision and agenda. The formation of the committee has generated a positive response among journalists in the subdivision, who welcomed the new leadership with enthusiasm.
