Agartala, 17th February 2025:   In a bid to ease congestion and ensure smooth traffic flow, the Traffic Department has launched a joint operation to keep GB Bazar free from traffic jams. An enforcement team, led by Tripura Traffic Police Additional SP Sudhambika R, conducted a crackdown on illegal parking in the area on Monday.

During the operation, notices were issued to vehicle owners found parking their cars, motorbikes, scooters, and other vehicles in an unauthorized manner. The Traffic Department has warned that legal action will be taken against violators.

Speaking about the initiative, Sudhambika R emphasized that reckless parking has been a major cause of traffic congestion in GB Bazar.

“People are parking their vehicles wherever they want, creating unnecessary traffic jams. Today’s operation aims to free the market area from such disruptions,” she said.

She further added that a strict warning has been issued against illegal parking. “Notices have been sent to owners who parked their vehicles unlawfully. Legal action will follow for repeated violations. Such enforcement drives will continue in the coming days to maintain traffic discipline,” said Additional SP Sudhambika R.
