Agartala, 15th July 2024 :   In a shocking incident that has sent shockwaves through the community, Supriya Das, a new mother tragically lost her life due to alleged negligence at GB Hospital. The incident has raised serious concerns about patient care and hospital management.

Supriya Das, a resident of Moharcherra, Teliamura gave birth to a baby at GB Hospital on Sunday. However, her post-delivery experience turned into a nightmare. According to family members, Supriya was in extreme pain and discomfort but hospital staff failed to attend to her promptly.

Late at night, when Supriya’s cries grew louder, her family members attempted to approach her. Shockingly, security guards and nurses prevented them from entering the ward. Despite their pleas, they were denied access to Supriya.

The situation escalated the next morning when Supriya was found lying on the floor in a critical condition. Witnesses reported that she had fallen from her bed due to severe pain. Tragically, she passed away without receiving proper medical attention.

Supriya’s husband, Suman Das accused the hospital staff of negligence. He specifically pointed out the special nurses assigned to care for new mothers, who allegedly prioritized their mobile phones over patient well-being. Additionally, private security guards reportedly disregarded the concerns of Supriya’s family.

Suman Das stated, “If you call those in charge ‘special nurses’ and slip them a few hundred rupees, they’ll attend to your needs.” His explosive allegations have ignited public outrage.

Supriya’s grieving mother expressed her anguish, saying, “My daughter’s cries fell on deaf ears. The nurse, engrossed in her phone, failed to provide timely assistance. Now my daughter’s lap remains empty forever.”

The bereaved family demands justice. They insist that all responsible parties, including the security guard, face severe consequences. Questions are also being raised about the hospital’s overall management. Despite media accolades, the reality appears stark: GB Hospital’s service quality is under scrutiny.

Common people are calling for immediate action, urging the dismissal of negligent staff. Lives hang in the balance, and the community awaits answers from hospital authorities.
