Tragedy strikes Khowai English Medium School: Student of Class III passes away

Agartala, 24th July 2024:   In a heart-wrenching incident at Khowai English Medium School, Sarika Debbarma, a nine-year-old third-grade student from the morning section, fell seriously ill during school hours. Tragically, she collapsed and later succumbed to her illness at GB Hospital.

The sequence of events took place on Tuesday when Pradip Nath, an observer visited the school to conduct a survey specifically for third-grade students. Sarika, seated in a classroom suddenly complained of a headache and began feeling unwell. Alarmed, her classmate Alia Debbarma offered her water but Sarika vomited shortly afterward.

The school staff acted swiftly and rushed Sarika to Khowai District Hospital. Meanwhile, her father Sajal Debbarma received multiple calls from the school informing him about his daughter’s condition. The concerned father arrived at the hospital where Sarika was admitted under close supervision.

Later that evening, the school contacted Sajal again urging him to shift Sarika to GB Hospital. Shockingly, she is currently in the ICU there. An autopsy is scheduled for Wednesday afternoon to determine the exact cause of her untimely demise.

Sagarika Debbarma was not a local resident; her family resides in Shib Durga Kobra Para, Kamalghat area. Her tragic passing has left the entire school community grieving.
