Tragic accident claims woman’s life at Nalua Bazar, Belonia

Agartala, 18th April 2024:   Tragedy struck at Nalua Bazar on the Belonia-Srinagar road as a woman lost her life in a horrifying accident involving a bus. The victim identified as Namita Shil (63), was crushed by the wheel of a bus, right in front of her husband.

Local residents promptly alerted the authorities, and law enforcement swiftly responded to the scene. The police recovered Namita Shil’s body and transported it to the hospital for further examination through a post-mortem procedure.

According to reports, the incident took place when an SML Bus, bearing registration number TR01-1342 and en route from Agartala to Srinagar, made a sudden stop. The driver abruptly left the vehicle, leaving passengers disembarking in confusion. Tragically, Namita Shil fell onto the road, colliding with the wheel of the bus and sustaining fatal injuries.

The news of the accident sent shockwaves through the Belonia Satmura area, casting a pall of sorrow over the community. Following the completion of the post-mortem at Belonia sub-divisional hospital on Thursday, Namita Shil’s remains were handed over to her grieving family.

Heart-wrenching scenestook place as family members received Namita Shil’s body, overcome with emotion. The deceased was then taken to her residence in the Satmura area, where relatives and loved ones bid their final farewells amidst tears.

Subsequently, Namita Shil’s funeral rites were conducted at the Bankar crematorium, marking the conclusion of a tragic chapter in the lives of those who knew and loved her.
