Agartala, 13th November 2025: In a heart-wrenching coincidence, siblings from Charilam Aralia in Sepahijala district died exactly ten years apart on the same date — November 12.
Local sources informed that Mayana Begum, former Pradhan of Aralia Gram Panchayat, had passed away on November 12, 2015. Exactly a decade later, on November 12, 2025, her younger brother, Zakir Hossain, also met an untimely death due to a sudden heart attack.
Zakir Hossain, who was serving as a Panchayat Secretary in Laljhuri RD Block under North Tripura district, reportedly collapsed moments after returning home from work on Wednesday. Family members said he did not even have time to set down his office bag before he fell unconscious.
His body was brought to his native village, Uttar Mura under Charilam Aralia Gram Panchayat this afternoon. He was laid to rest beside his sister’s grave at Charilam Old House Manu Fakir’s burial ground.
Villagers expressed deep sorrow and disbelief over the coincidence, describing it as “the mysterious play of destiny,” as both brother and sister passed away on the same date, ten years apart.
