Agartala, 16th April 2024: A high-speed collision took place on Tuesday afternoon between an ambulance and a motorcycle left three individuals seriously injured in the vicinity of Bishalgarh motorstand. The ambulance bearing registration number TR03B-0814, was en route from South Tripura District Hospital at Santirbazar to GBP Hospital in Agartala when it collided with a Pulsar motorcycle bearing registration number TR07A-8842.
The motorcycle, reportedly traveling at a high velocity from Bishalgarh towards Jangalia, lost control and struck the ambulance near the DWS office. The impact caused the motorcycle rider to be thrown onto the road, while the ambulance careened into a roadside drain.
The motorcycle rider identified as Palash Roy sustained injuries on the spot. Parimal Nama, a passenger in the ambulance, also suffered injuries in the crash. Both individuals were promptly attended to by the fire brigade and transported to local hospital for urgent care. Palash Roy was subsequently referred to TMC and Dr BRAM Teaching Hospital at Hapania, and Parimal Nama was shifted to GBP Hospital for further treatment.
Officials have not yet released a statement regarding the cause of the accident or the current condition of the injured. The local authorities are investigating the circumstances leading up to the tragic event.
