Agartala, 19th June 2024: A construction worker named Basudev Das (40) lost his life due to electrocution while on duty at the residence of Sadhan Chowdhury on the northern bank of Bankar River in Belonia under South Tripura district. The accident took place on Wednesday morning when Basudev accidentally came into contact with an electric wire while operating a motor.
According to a family member, Basudev, like every other day had started work along with his colleagues at Sadhan Chowdhury’s house. The sudden contact with the live wire was witnessed by his fellow workers, who immediately raised an alarm. Local residents rushed to the scene upon hearing the commotion.
Basudev was promptly rescued and rushed to Belonia sub-divisional hospital where medical personnel, despite efforts declared him deceased. The tragic incident has cast a pall of mourning over the community leaving his family and colleagues devastated by the loss.
