Agartala, 5th March 2024: In a tragic turn of events early Tuesday morning, a severe road accident was reported in the Kakracherra ADC village area, under Mungiakami police station. A car veered off the road and plummeted into a 150-foot deep ditch, resulting in one fatality and leaving another individual gravely injured.
The deceased, identified as Ganesh Debbarma, was pronounced dead upon arrival at the hospital. The other occupant of the vehicle, Partha Debbarma, sustained serious injuries and was initially taken to a local hospital. Given the severity of his condition, he was later transferred to GB Hospital for further treatment.
Local residents were quick to respond to the incident, alerting the fire brigade upon discovering the accident. The fire brigade personnel promptly executed a rescue operation to extricate the injured from the wreckage.
The authorities are currently investigating the cause of the accident. The community mourns the loss of a young life and hopes for the swift recovery of the injured survivor. The incident serves as a somber reminder of the importance of road safety and the potential consequences of its neglect.
