TRAI holds consumer outreach programme

Agartala, 25th February 2026:   The Kolkata Regional Office of the Telecom Regulatory Authority of India (TRAI) today conducted an outreach programme at Hapaniya Women’s Polytechnic College in Tripura, aimed at educating and sensitising consumers about their concerns. The initiative was part of TRAI’s 29th anniversary celebrations.

Special Secretary of the Food and Consumer Affairs Department, Debapriya Bardhan, attended the event as chief guest. The programme also saw participation from a professor of the Tripura Institute of Technology (TIT), along with an Advisor and Senior Research Officer of TRAI.

Discussions during the session focused on pressing issues such as the responsible use of internet technology and measures to combat cybercrime. A large number of college students joined the programme, which featured a special PowerPoint presentation prepared by the organising department.
