Agartala, 10th December 2024: Forage sorghum is a valuable fodder and its scientific cultivation needs to be popularized in the Agro-climatic conditions of Tripura.
The College of Agriculture, Tripura, has successfully organized a training program on “Scientific Cultivation of Fodder Sorghum” under the project funded by Indian Council of Agricultural Research-Indian Institute of Millets Research (ICAR-IIMR), Hyderabad, on December 10, 2024 at College of Agriculture, Tripura.
About 25 numbers of farmers from North Charilam, Chesrimai of Sepahijala District has participated the Training programme along with Dr. Utpal Dey, Subject Matter Specialist, Krishi Vigyan Kendra, Sepahijala, CAU (I), Tripura.
Prof. (Dr) Debashish Sen, Principal, College of Agriculture, Tripura has emphasized and encouraged farmers to grow Fodder Sorghum, Hybrid Napier Bajra etc. for diversified farming.
Dr. Durga Prasad Awasthi, Dr. Utpal Giri, Dr. Dipak Sinha & Dr. Budha Ch. Thangjam of College of Agriculture, Tripura has delivered their talks as resource person regarding Scientific Cultivation of Fodder Sorghum.
As a part of the programme, demonstration field of Fodder Sorghum were also visited by the farmers along with the resource persons.
