Agartala, 10th December 2024:    In a shocking series of incidents, at least 15 people were severely injured after being attacked by a stray dog in the Dharmanagar Municipal Council area on Tuesday. The attacks took place between morning and noon, causing widespread panic among local residents.

Firefighters responded swiftly, rescuing the injured and transporting them to Dharmanagar District Hospital. Several victims also sought treatment on their own.

A doctor on duty at the hospital reported that between 9 am and 2 pm, 10 to 15 victims of dog bites arrived, 10 of whom suffered serious injuries. “All necessary medical assistance is being provided to the injured,” assured the doctor.

The incident has escalated an ongoing concern, as reports suggest that over the past few days, 40 to 50 people have been bitten by stray dogs in the area. The rising number of attacks has heightened fear among residents, who are now demanding immediate action from authorities to address the stray dog menace.

Residents urge the Dharmanagar Municipal Council to implement measures such as dog-catching drives and vaccination programs to prevent further incidents.
