Agartala, 30th May 2025: In an effort to combat global warming and promote environmental sustainability, the Panisagar Agricultural Cooperative Society organized a tree plantation program at its office premises as part of the “Ek Peer Ma Ki Naam” initiative. The event was held in accordance with the directives of the Hetasadhani Cooperative Marketing Society Limited and the State Deputy Registrar of Cooperative Societies, coinciding with the observance of the International Cooperative Year 2025.
The plantation drive was attended by President of the Panisagar Agricultural Cooperative Society, Smriti Datta, Board Member Pradip Kumar Nath, Acting Manager Shankar Debnath, Manager in-Charge of the Panisagar Agricultural Cooperative Bank Dingpuiya Darlong and other employees of the cooperative society.
Despite heavy rains due to low-pressure conditions in the state, the event proceeded on a modest scale, with approximately 20 valuable trees of different species being planted in the cooperative society’s premises. Officials affirmed their commitment to expanding such environmental initiatives in the future, aiming for larger-scale tree plantation drives in the coming years.
