Agartala, 3rd March 2026: The Adi Bazaar and Tribal Artisans Empanelment Fair commenced yesterday evening at the Chandrapara Higher Secondary School grounds in Ambassa, Dhalai district. The event is organized by the Tribal Cooperative Marketing Development Federation of India (TRIFED) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs, with support from the Dhalai district administration.
The fair was inaugurated by Sushmita Das, Sabhadipati of the Dhalai Zilla Parishad. Distinguished guests at the opening ceremony included Parimal Debbarma, Chairman of the Block Advisory Committee; Pratima Malakar, Chairperson of Ambassa Municipal Council; P.S. Thuingaleng, Regional Officer of TRIFED; and Partha Das, Additional District Magistrate of Dhalai.
Running until March 8, the fair provides a platform for tribal communities to showcase and sell their products. The initiative aims to promote socio-economic development by supporting tribal artisans and producers.
Following the inauguration, guests formally opened the stalls. The fair features 25 stalls, including several dedicated to traditional tribal food items.
