Agartala, 24th May 2025: A tribal woman sustained severe injuries in a road accident early this morning near the Durga Chowmuhani checkpoint on the national highway. Locals promptly rescued her and rushed her to Kulai Hospital for urgent medical attention. Reports indicate that she suffered serious head and chest injuries.
According to family members of the victim identified as Nibita Debbarma, she was walking to her rubber plantation for work when a speeding 12-wheeler empty truck from Agartala struck her and attempted to flee. However, police officers stationed at the checkpoint intercepted the vehicle. Fire department personnel were notified and soon arrived at the scene, transporting the critically injured woman to Bimal Singha Memorial Hospital for further treatment.
In the aftermath of the accident, enraged locals vandalized the truck. Law enforcement officials swiftly intervened to bring the situation under control.
