Agartala, 22nd September 2026 : The Tata Trust-run Tridha Dairy in Kamalpur was formally handed over to the Gomati Cooperative Milk Producers’ Union Limited (Gomati Dairy) on Tuesday, marking a significant development for the dairy sector in Dhalai district.
The handover ceremony was held under the leadership of Chairman Ratan Ghosh and in the presence of the Board of Directors and Managing Director Narayan Chandra Ghosh. Kamalpur MLA Manoj Kanti Deb, along with officials and other dignitaries, attended the programme.
The transfer is expected to create new opportunities for dairy farmers and agriculturalists in Dhalai by strengthening the local milk procurement and processing network. Gomati Dairy plans to streamline and expand the operations of Tridha Dairy in the coming days, with a focus on increasing milk procurement from local farmers and encouraging greater participation in the dairy sector.
The organisation also aims to ensure the supply of safe and quality milk and dairy products to consumers while creating a stronger market linkage for local milk producers.
The handover is being viewed as an important step towards expanding dairy-related economic activities in Dhalai and improving livelihood opportunities for farmers. Gomati Dairy has stated that its future initiatives will focus on farmers’ prosperity alongside the overall development of the dairy sector in the state.
