Agartala, January 18: Union Minister of State Pratima Bhoumik praised the achievements of the BJP-led government in Tripura, while addressing the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra and Prati Ghora Sushasan-2.0 Mela at Swami Vivekananda Maidan here on Thursday. She said that Tripura has become a self-reliant state in the last six years, despite being one of the smallest states in the country.
Bhowmik highlighted the various schemes and initiatives launched by the central and state governments for the welfare of the people of Tripura, especially the farmers, poor workers, women and youth. She said that more than 3.77 lakh houses have been provided to the villagers under Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, 3.03 lakh women have been given toilets under Swachh Bharat, and 3.07 lakh women have received cooking gas connection under Ujjwala Yojana.
She also said that the Prime Minister Narendra Modi has fulfilled his promise of providing income to the people of the state, which was mocked by the opposition parties. She said that 26 lakh citizens of the state have benefited from Prime Minister Mudra Loan, and 13,746 crore rupees have been disbursed as currency loans to the unemployed youth. She added that 5.45 lakh people have become self-reliant by taking Mudra loans.
She further said that the budget of the state has increased from 15 thousand crore rupees to 28 thousand crore rupees under the BJP government, and the people of the state have realized the advantages of having a double engine government. She said that the Prime Minister of the country has a vision of making India a glorious country by 2047, by empowering the four castes of farmers, poor workers, women and youth. She said that the Viksit Bharat Sankalp Yatra, which started from November 15, is an opportunity for the people of the state to join this mission.
