Agartala, 8th March 2025:  Tripura Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Saturday accused the Communist Party of India (Marxist) [CPI(M)] of attempting to mislead the public with false statements, alleging that the opposition party operates with a “criminal mindset” and has a history of misrule in the state.

Addressing the media, BJP spokesperson Subrata Chakraborty refuted CPI(M)’s allegations regarding the upcoming public gathering, stating, “CPI(M) has always functioned with a criminal mentality. They are deliberately creating confusion by spreading falsehoods about tomorrow’s event. During their rule, they resorted to coercion, even linking participation in rallies to access to MNREGA jobs.”

Chakraborty further accused the CPI(M) of engaging in negative politics, stating that their primary agenda is to mislead people, oppose developmental initiatives, and spread propaganda against the BJP government.  He emphasized that BJP’s *national president and Union Health Minister JP Nadda, along with **Tripura Chief Minister (Dr.) Manik Saha, state ministers, and senior party leaders, will be present at Sunday’s public meeting, which he described as a *“historic gathering.” Urging people to attend, he added that the event would showcase the overwhelming support for the BJP’s governance in Tripura.

Highlighting the achievements of the BJP-led government, Chakraborty said that over the past seven years, the party has worked towards the welfare of people from all walks of life, ensuring progress from rural areas to the grassroots level.

“The BJP government is committed to the vision of a ‘Vikshit Bharat’ and a ‘Vikshit Tripura.’ Under the leadership of Chief Minister Manik Saha and Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Tripura is witnessing remarkable development, which has inspired confidence among women, youth, and farmers. The enthusiasm ahead of tomorrow’s public meeting is a reflection of this progress,” he stated.  Reiterating his allegations against the CPI(M), Chakraborty claimed that the party is using social media to create confusion regarding the public gathering. “They cannot accept the wave of development sweeping across Tripura under the current government’s leadership. Having misruled the state for decades, they are now resorting to spreading misinformation to mislead people,” he asserted.
