Agartala, 8th March 2025:   . As the Bharatiya Janata Party-led government in Tripura completes two years in office, Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha highlighted the state’s remarkable progress in governance, women’s empowerment, and infrastructural development. Addressing a gathering at Rabindra Satabarsiki Bhavan, he credited the administration’s transparent policies and Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision for the state’s steady transformation.

Dr. Saha underscored that Tripura’s development is being driven by inclusive governance, where every section of society benefits. “Our government is working tirelessly to ensure that growth is not limited to urban centers but reaches every corner of the state. Be it infrastructure, law and order, economy, or education, we are committed to holistic development,” he said.

One of the government’s key achievements has been strengthening digital governance. Dr. Saha pointed out that the Proti Ghore Susashan initiative has positively impacted around 23 lakh people, while the Amaar Sarkar portal has streamlined governance, earning appreciation from Prime Minister Modi at a Chief Ministers’ conclave. Additionally, the introduction of e-Office has enhanced transparency from the cabinet to the Panchayat level.

The Chief Minister emphasized his government’s commitment to women’s empowerment. “Women’s welfare has always been a priority. From launching Pink Toilets to introducing 33% reservation for women in government jobs, we are taking concrete steps to create a safer and more inclusive environment,” he said. He also mentioned the establishment of nine women-run Women Police Stations and a dedicated helpline to enhance safety and security for women across the state.

Dr. Saha highlighted Tripura’s economic progress, stating that the state’s GSDP and per capita income have shown a significant rise in recent years. Job creation has been a major focus, with 16,451 recruitments made in various government departments since 2018, along with over 5,000 jobs created through outsourcing. The unemployment rate has witnessed a notable decline, reflecting the government’s efforts to provide employment opportunities.

Furthermore, the Asian Development Bank (ADB) has sanctioned ₹1,400 crore for the development of tribal areas, ensuring upliftment and improved living conditions for indigenous communities.

While infrastructure remains a key area of progress, Dr. Saha emphasized that development is not just about roads and buildings. “Real development means improving communication, human life, education, law and order, and economic conditions. We are working in all these areas to make Tripura a model state under the vision of Vikshit Bharat,” he added.

The government has also increased social allowance from ₹700 during the previous regime to ₹2,000, ensuring better financial support for vulnerable communities.
