Agartala, 12th January 2025:   Tripura BJP president and Rajya Sabha MP Rajib Bhattacharya on Sunday took a dig at the former Left Front government, accusing it of fostering socialism and capitalism among the youth while suppressing the people during its prolonged rule.

Addressing an event held at Rabindra Shatabarshiki Bhavan, Bhattacharya praised the BJP for prioritizing youth in leadership and governance.

“The youth are driving the state’s progress. From Panchayat Samitis to Zila Parishads and Panchayat Pradhans, young leaders are taking the reins and working for society. During our school days under the previous regime, we were exposed to ideologies like socialism and capitalism, which the CPIM promoted. We reject these ideologies. Under Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s leadership, the youth have embraced nationalism. PM Modi is an icon for young people, and we are fortunate to have such a visionary leader,” he said.  Bhattacharya highlighted the BJP’s efforts to involve youth at every level of governance, stating that most newly appointed Mandal Presidents are under the age of 45.

He emphasized the shift in the country’s and state’s mindset since the BJP assumed power, adding, “Our government is committed to protecting the youth and steering them toward nationalism”, he said.  Bhattacharya accused the CPIM of neglecting development and suppressing the people, contrasting it with the BJP’s youth-focused governance and development agenda.
