Agartala, 23rd January 2025: The 128th birth anniversary of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose was celebrated with great reverence and enthusiasm across Tripura. The state paid homage to the legendary freedom fighter through various events and ceremonies.
Governor Indra Sena Reddy Nallu led the tributes by offering a wreath at the full-length statue of Netaji at Maharajganj Bazar. “Netaji is the greatest of all the brave men who led the way to independence in the country,” the Governor remarked, highlighting Netaji’s unparalleled contributions to India’s freedom struggle.
At the BJP state office, party leaders marked the occasion by hoisting the flag and garlanding Netaji’s portrait. The event was conducted with due dignity, reflecting the party’s respect for the iconic leader.
In Dharmanagar, the 128th birth anniversary was celebrated with great enthusiasm. The Dharmanagar Municipal Council and the Dharmanagar District ICA Department organized a program attended by Dharmanagar SDM Sajal Debnath, Chairperson of Dharmanagar Municipal Council Mitali Das Sen, headmasters, teachers, and cultural representatives. The national flag was hoisted at Bir Bikram Maidan by Chairperson Mitali Das Sen, followed by the national anthem. A colorful procession featuring around 3,500 students from 40 schools was the highlight of the event. Honorary mementos were presented to the participating teams from each school.
Kailashahar also celebrated the birth anniversary with great pomp. A program was organized at the Netaji Corner under the joint initiative of the Ex-Sainik League and Kailashahar Municipal Council. Chairperson Chapala Rani Debroy, Kailashahar SDM Pradip Sarkar and others were present to pay their respects.
Kamalpur Nagar Panchayat and SDM administration organized a grand celebration at Netaji Chowmuhani. A rally featuring students from various schools paid tribute to the freedom fighters of India. The rally concluded at the foot of Netaji’s marble statue.
Bishalgarh Ananda Marg School marked the occasion with a grand procession of students on January 23rd.
Udaipur Netaji Vidyaniketan celebrated Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose’s birthday by installing a new marble statue. Tripura Finance Minister Pranajit Singha Roy inaugurated the event by hoisting the national flag and unveiling the statue. A new school building was also inaugurated. The event was attended by the chairperson, local officials and school community included a city tour by students and a cultural program, receiving enthusiastic participation from all.
The “Yuva Sankalp Club” of Jolaibari, Dakshin Kadamtala, Dharmanagar subdivision, celebrated Netaji’s birthday uniquely by organizing a free eye camp. The camp was held at the club house under the initiative of Silchar ERC Hospital, Assam, and managed by the Jolaibari Yuva Sankalp Club.
In Agartala, Banijyoti distributed fruits, sweets, and dry food to the residents of the women’s ashram in Abhoynagar. The organization’s working secretary Debasish Bhattacharya and others were present, adding a touch of compassion to the celebrations. The state of Tripura came together to honor the legacy of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose, reflecting the deep respect and admiration for the great leader who played a pivotal role in India’s independence.
