Agartala, 21st September 2024:   The Tripura Chakma Student Association along with several other organizations staged a protest on Saturday condemning the ongoing violence against minorities in Bangladesh. A protest march was organized, with participants traversing various routes throughout the city to raise awareness of the issue.

A representative of the association highlighted the alarming situation over the past three years, citing continuous attacks on Chakma, Adaba people, and other minorities, particularly in Khagrachari, Bangladesh. The violence, they claimed, has targeted not only students but also women, with reports of gang rapes and daily assaults on minority groups across the country.

The protesters demanded immediate action to ensure the safety of the Chakma, Adaba, and other minority communities in Bangladesh. They also called for the inclusion of the Chittagong Hill Tracts in India to provide greater protection to these vulnerable populations.\
