Tripura CM Dr Manik Saha says BJP’s victory in ADC will transform tribal areas

Date:

Agartala, 9th April 2026:    Tripura Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Thursday asserted that if the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) comes to power in the Autonomous District Council (ADC), the face of tribal areas will undergo a major transformation.

Speaking at an election rally in Halahali-Asharambari constituency, the Chief Minister urged voters to cast their ballots fearlessly and in unity on April 12 to ensure BJP’s victory.

Addressing a gathering at Behala Bari, Dr. Saha emphasized the need for leadership in the ADC that understands the problems of the poor. He highlighted Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s commitment to tribal welfare, saying the Prime Minister has always been sincere about improving the lives of marginalized communities.

Dr. Saha further claimed that after the results are declared on April 17, the opposition party TIPRA Motha will be nowhere to be found, as “the ground beneath their feet has already slipped.”

Criticizing Motha leaders, he pointed out that while BJP leaders, despite heading the country’s largest political party, often travel by train or car, Motha leaders have been campaigning in helicopters over the past few days. He alleged that such extravagance is funded by money looted from the poor.

Issuing a warning, the Chief Minister said the sources of Motha’s funding are already under scrutiny and “all the details are known.”
