Agartala, 9th April 2026: The Group Centre of the Central Reserve Police Force, Agartala commemorated Valour day 2026 with solemn pride and patriotic fervour, paying homage to the unmatched bravery and sacrifices made by the bravehearts of the force.
Valour Day is observed every year on 9th April to mark the heroic stand of a small contingent of CRPF personnel against a Pakistani Infantry brigade at Sardar Post in Rann of Kutch, Gujarat in 1965. Despite being heavily outnumbered, the CRPF Jawans displayed extraordinary courage, repelling the attack and holding the post, a historic display of dedication and heroism.
The celebration at Group Centre, Agartala began with a wreath-laying ceremony at the Martyr’s Memorial, where Shri Sanjay Yadav, IG, Tripura Sector, Agartala, as Chief Guest in the presence of Senior Officers and Jawans paid floral tributes to the fallen heroes. A Two-minute silence was observed in honour of the martyr’s.
On this occasion, Two retired personnel of CRPF belongs to Tripura State who were awarded Police Medal for Gallantry, invited and honoured. CRPF Officers also visited the residence of 08 Martyr’s in our AOR, offering heartfelt tributes and felicitated the Veer Naris and families.
