Agartala, 12th February 2025 Chief Minister Prof. Dr. Manik Saha on Wednesday issued a strong warning against any attempts to reintroduce insurgency in Tripura, asserting that strict action would be taken against those involved.

“Anyone found aiding or attempting to spread insurgency will face severe consequences. We have concrete information about such attempts, and this time, no one will be spared. It has taken tremendous effort to restore peace in Tripura, and our goal is to ensure all-round development,” Dr. Saha stated.

The Chief Minister criticized the previous communist rule, alleging that it led to an era of anarchy in the state. “Our aim is to foster a peaceful and progressive environment. Tripura is now one of the best-performing states in the Northeast, and our government is committed to socio-economic upliftment, particularly for women,” he added.

Dr. Saha made these remarks while laying the foundation stone for five new projects and inaugurating another at the Jirania Motor Stand Complex in West Tripura. The projects include the construction of motor stands in Jirania, Jolaibari, and Melaghar, as well as District Transport Offices in Teliamura and Shantirbazar. Additionally, the Integrated Parking Complex at Puran Bazar, Khowai District, was inaugurated virtually. The total investment for these projects amounts to Rs 40.58 crore.

Speaking at the event organized by the Transport Department, the Chief Minister emphasized that these initiatives mark a significant milestone in the state’s infrastructure development. He credited Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s Act East Policy for accelerating progress in the Northeast, including Tripura.

“The scale of development we see today was never witnessed before. Unlike the past, when only slogans were raised, the current administration is delivering real benefits to vehicle owners, drivers, and passengers. Under the previous communist government, the state frequently complained about lack of central funds, but today, we are seeing the results of strong governance,” Dr. Saha remarked.

Highlighting the importance of action over rhetoric, he reiterated the Prime Minister’s commitment to the North East’s growth through the HIRA model. “Under the leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, around 12 MoUs have been signed across the North East to maintain peace. Today, Tripura is free from extremism,” the Chief Minister affirmed.
