Agartala, 8th December 2023: Under the auspices of the Tripura Commission for Women, a comprehensive three-day awareness camp transpired at Dharmanagar Circuit House from December 6 to 8. The event saw the active participation of the recently appointed Chairperson, Jharna Debbarma, Vice Chairperson, and Member Daliya Sinha, alongside other dedicated members and councillors.
Speaking to reporters here, Chairperson Jharna Debbarma disclosed that the counselling camp in Dharmanagar addressed 63 pending cases from Uttar district, aiming to provide resolutions through discussions. While several cases were successfully settled during the counselling campaign, Chairperson Debbarma expressed concern over the absence of many plaintiffs on the scheduled dates despite police notifications. Consequently, numerous cases remained unresolved due to the non-appearance of defendants.
Chairperson Debbarma pledged to strategize with fellow commission officials in the coming days to enhance participation from both plaintiffs and defendants in future campaigns. Noting that this marked the first camp at the Circuit House of Dharmanagar in North District, she affirmed the commitment to organizing similar camps every 3-4 months to address pending cases and provide timely resolutions. Additionally, she reiterated her dedication to fulfilling the responsibilities entrusted to her by the state government and the chief minister, pledging continuous efforts to implement the directives of the chief minister.
