Agartala, 22nd March 2026:   The Tripura Pradesh Congress Committee has decided to contest all 28 seats in the upcoming Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) elections. State Congress President Asish Kumar Saha on Sunday said that the party has nearly finalized its list of candidates, which will be officially announced after receiving approval from the central leadership.

Speaking after a meeting with party workers, attended by MLA Sudip Roy Barman and other leaders, Saha stated that the party has been actively preparing for the polls over the past two months, particularly through its Adivasi Congress wing.

He also added the possibility of forming alliances with two regional parties to strengthen the party’s position in the tribal-dominated hill areas. According to him, coordination with these allies could help the Congress put up a strong challenge against both the BJP and Tipra Motha.

Saha emphasized that the Congress is approaching the elections with seriousness and plans to campaign on issues such as development, tribal welfare, and grassroots empowerment. He added that the party aims to reconnect with tribal voters by introducing new faces and building strategic alliances.Once the final list of candidates is released, the Congress is expected to intensify its campaign across the region.
