Agartala, 2nd September 2026 : Noted educationist and academician Abhijit Bhattacharjee, Principal of the School of Science, is set to receive the prestigious “Banga-Tripura Shiksha Gourav Samman 2026 – Lifetime Achievement Award” at a special felicitation programme in Kolkata on September 4.
The programme is being organised by Banga-Tripura Maitri Mancha, Desh Bhabna and Vision of Bengal, in collaboration with Swami Vivekananda Vidyamandir, as part of Teachers’ Day celebrations and the 138th birth anniversary of Dr. Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan.
The ceremony will be held at Nalini Guha Sabhaghar in central Kolkata and is expected to be attended by prominent personalities, including eminent cardiologist Dr. Kunal Sarkar and educationist and political analyst Professor Biswanath Chakraborty.
The award recognises Bhattacharjee’s longstanding contribution to education, science education and academic excellence in Tripura. He has received several honours over the years, including the Best Academician Award, 2022, from the Government of Tripura. His other recognitions include the Man of the Year Award by The Telegraph in 2007, the Sweta Bhattacharjee Memorial Award in 2009, and Teacher of the Year Award by Eastern Panorama in 2009.
The forthcoming honour is being seen as another significant recognition of his contribution to Tripura’s education sector.
