Agartala, 9th May 2026: The Tripura State Election Commission has initiated preparations for the much-anticipated Village Committee elections. To ensure smooth conduct of the polls, the Commission has announced a detailed schedule for the publication of draft polling station lists, submission of objections, disposal of claims, and release of the final list.
According to Rule 10 of the Tripura Tribal Areas Autonomous District Council (TTAADC) Election Conduct Rules, 1996, all Returning Officers and concerned Block Development Officers (BDOs) have been directed to identify an adequate number of polling stations. The draft lists, once prepared with prior approval of the State Election Commissioner, will be displayed at respective offices and Village Committee premises.
As per the official notification- May 11: Publication of draft polling station list; May 15: Deadline for submission of claims and objections; May 16: Disposal of objections and complaints; and May 18: Publication of final polling station list
The Commission has emphasized transparency and accessibility throughout the process, ensuring that voters and stakeholders can review and raise concerns before the finalization of polling stations.
