Tripura EMRS Students Shine at National Kala Utsav 2025

Agartala, 7th December 2025:   In a remarkable achievement for Tripura, students from Eklavya Model Residential Schools (EMRS) made the state proud with their outstanding performance at the National Cultural and Literary Festival, Kala Utsav & Samriddhi 2025, held in Andhra Pradesh from December 3 to 5.

The national-level event was organised by the National Educational Society for Tribal Students (NESTS) under the Ministry of Tribal Affairs and hosted by the Andhra Pradesh Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (APTWREIS). Participants representing 25 states and Union Territories came together to celebrate tribal heritage, showcasing a rich diversity of culture, talent, and tradition.

Tripura was represented by a 45-member delegation comprising 17 boys and 28 girls from 12 EMRS institutions under the Tripura Tribal Welfare Residential Educational Institutions Society (TTWREIS). The students participated in a wide array of activities, including solo and group dance, vocal and instrumental music, and storytelling in both Hindi and English rooted in tribal folklore. Literary and academic competitions such as extempore speech, spelling bee, debate, and quiz were also part of the festival.

The Tripura contingent excelled in several categories, securing top positions in Regional Folk Dance (Group) – Senior (1st Prize), Visual Arts (2D Painting) – Senior (1st Prize), and Extempore Speech – Senior (1st Prize). They also earned the 2nd Prize in Tribal Vocal Music (Senior) and 3rd Prizes in Regional Tribal Group Dance (Senior), Quiz (Senior), and Tribal Group Dance (Junior).

The Tribal Welfare Department, in an official press release, congratulated the students for their commendable achievements and for bringing national recognition to the state through their exceptional performances.
