Tripura Government Aims to Propel Tourism Industry for Economic Growth: Sushanta Chowdhury

Agartala, October 19: In a significant move to boost the tourism sector in the state, the Tripura Government’s Department of Tourism and Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Ltd. have unveiled their unwavering commitment to elevate the allure of Tripura’s tourist destinations. Tourism Minister Sushant Chowdhury, who emphasized the pivotal role of tourism in the livelihood of countless individuals, made this declaration during the 36th Board of Directors meeting of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited.

Presiding over the meeting, Minister Sushanta Chowdhury gathered with fellow board members and officials at the Gitanjali State Tourist Guest House in Agartala. The primary objective of this assembly was to expedite the resurgence of Tripura’s tourism industry.

Minister Chowdhury delved into an extensive discussion on the historical and ongoing activities of Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited. He offered essential recommendations and directives to the present officials, outlining strategies to enhance the appeal of Tripura’s tourist hotspots. Collaboration across various departments was a pivotal point of focus during the meeting.

The session’s central theme revolved around the formulation of a comprehensive plan aimed at realizing the latent potential of Tripura’s tourism industry. The meeting also addressed the means by which tourists could explore every nook and cranny of the state.

The gathering included notable figures such as Tourism Department Secretary Uttam Kumar Chakma, Works Department Secretary Abhishek Singh, Chief World Life Warden Praveen Agrawal, Tripura Tourism Development Corporation Limited Managing Director Tapan Kumar Das, Joint Director Aniruddha Roy, and Home Department Deputy Secretary Hena Debbarma, among others.

This concerted effort by the Tripura Government signifies a determination to harness the economic benefits that an invigorated tourism industry can offer, while ensuring the comprehensive development of this picturesque state.
