Tripura government announces festival grant for employees

Agartala, 22nd September 2024: The Department of Finance, Government of Tripura on Friday released a memorandum revising the “Festival Grant” rates for various categories of employees, staff, and workers. This revision aims to provide financial assistance during festive occasions.

According to the memorandum (No. F.10(51)-FIN(Exp-II)/63(L)/694-83), employees falling under Group C and D, along with Daily Rated Workers (DRWs), Contractual Workers, Casual Workers, and others, are eligible to receive a grant of Rs 2,000.

Pensioners, family pensioners, priests of government-run temples, and workers of similar categories will also be granted Rs 2,000. However, special allowances of Rs 2,200 are extended to Anganwadi Workers, Helpers, Home Guards, and SPOs.

Key highlights of the grant regulations: The grant can be availed only once during a financial year; Employees must provide a declaration ensuring they haven’t availed the grant more than once in a financial year; and Grants are available for only one festival per financial year.

This announcement brings a sense of relief to many employees as they prepare for the upcoming festive season.
