Agartala, 13th July 2026: Following the direct intervention and compassionate instructions of the Hon’ble Chief Minister of Tripura, Prof. (Dr.) Manik Saha, the Tripura Bhawan in New Delhi has swiftly stepped in to facilitate the advanced medical treatment of a 22-month-old infant suffering from a rare genetic disorder.
The patient, Manasree Choudhury, daughter of Shri Dhruba Choudhury, has been diagnosed with Spinal Muscular Atrophy (SMA) Type-1, a severe and life-threatening neuromuscular condition that requires highly specialized and immediate medical care.
Upon receiving direction from Chief Minister Dr. Manik Saha, officials at Tripura Bhawan, New Delhi, immediately mobilized resources to assist the family. The Tripura Bhawan team has taken complete initiative to coordinate with the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), New Delhi, ensuring that the child receives seamless access to top-tier medical evaluation and treatment protocols.
“Our priority is to ensure that no citizen of Tripura feels helpless when facing severe health crises. The state government is fully committed to standing by the family of young Manasree and providing all necessary logistical and administrative support during her treatment at AIIMS,” stated the office of the Chief Minister.
The Resident Commissioner and officials at Tripura Bhawan are continuously monitoring the situation and remain in close contact with both the medical team at AIIMS and the child’s family to ensure comprehensive assistance throughout their stay in the national capital.
