Tripura Govt to provide Job reservation for state players: Sushanta

Agartala Jan 06: Tripura government shall give special preference and at least 5% reservation to state players who have brought glory for Tripura by participating in national and international level sports.

The same was announced by Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Sushanta Chowdhury as he inaugurated the Synthetic Turf Football ground at BKI ground in Belonia, here on Friday.

“Various important and symbolic decision in interest of the sports fraternity is awaiting for Tripura and soon will be announced after final Cabinet decision. This includes 5% reservation in terms of government jobs for players from the state who earned medals and made Tripura proud in national and international level”, said Minister Sushanta Chowdhury.

The Minister of Sports and Youth Welfare Sushanta Chowdhury also urged the state youths to come forward and involve themselves in sports activities instead of engaging in drug consumption.

The synthetic turf football ground was built at the Belonia BKI ground at a cost of Rs 5 Crore with the efforts of the state government and the initiative of the state sports department.

Other than Minister Sushanta Chowdhury, MLA Arun Chandra Bhowmik, Belonia Municipal Council Chairman Nikhil Chandra Gope, Sports and Youth Welfare Officials and other dignitaries remained  present.
