Tripura Journalists Union demand health insurance coverage

Agartala, July 15, 2023. The Tripura Journalists Union (TJU) has submitted a memorandum to the Director of Information and Culture Department, Bimbisar Bhattacharya, demanding health insurance for government-approved journalists. The TJU representatives met the director today and discussed their issues with him.

Bhattacharya assured the TJU that their demand for certification is valid and that he will convey it to the Minister of the Department and Chief Minister of the State, Dr. Manik Saha. He also said that the process of providing health insurance to journalists is underway.

The TJU representatives, including Secretary General Alak Ghosh, Secretary Santosh Gope, and Executive Member Samaresh Dey, expressed their satisfaction over the deputation and the discussion. They hoped that their demands will be met soon.
