Agartala, July 15, 2023: Congress president Mallikarjuna Kharge on Saturday led a meeting with the top leaders of the Congress party from the entire North Eastern region. The meeting was held at AICC headquarters in New Delhi. They have expressed deep concern about the situation in Manipur. And expressed their support and sympathy to the people of Manipur on this day. The meeting was held to make demands to the government on how to control the situation in Manipur. After the meeting, top Congress leaders met in a press conference.
In a press conference, they said that 70 days have passed since the violent incident in Manipur. The situation is still not under control. The country’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi has been completely silent so far. Manipur has no role in bringing the situation under control. In today’s meeting, it was decided that the matter will be discussed in the Parliament the next day.
It is said that questions will be asked about why Prime Minister Narendra Modi is keeping quiet. Tripura Pradesh Congress President Ashish Kumar Saha, MLA Sudip Roy Barman, All India Congress Secretary Szarita Laitphlang and other leaders were present in the press conference.
