Tripura Journalists’ Union felicitates women journalists on International Women’s Day

Agartala, 8th March 2025:  In celebration of International Women’s Day, the Tripura Journalists’ Union felicitated women journalists working in the state during a prestigious and vibrant ceremony. For the first time, the “Ananya Sangbad Yoddha” award was presented to 70 women journalists in recognition of their contributions. The ceremony took place at 11 am in the Conference Hall of the Agartala Press Club.

In addition, journalist Reshmi Debnath received the “Shaktirupa Award” for her exceptional work. As part of the event, a blazer was also presented to representatives from 20 media houses.

The ceremony featured figures such as Sudhambika R, IPS, Additional Traffic Superintendent of West Tripura District; Arpita Saha, Director of Shyam Sundar Co. Jewellers; and Phulan Bhattacharya, social worker and former journalist as chief and special guests. The event was presided over by Pranab Sarkar, President of the Tripura Journalists’ Union.

Organizers of the event, including Adviser Syed Sajjad Ali, Secretary General Alok Ghosh, Secretary Sourajit Pal and Assistant Secretary Abhishek Dey along with all union members were present to mark the occasion.
