Agartala, September 22, 2023: Tripura Journalists Union (TJU) is all set to host a friendly football match with Chittagong Sports Journalists Club (CSJC) from Bangladesh on the occasion of Tourism Day. The match will be played on September 26 at Agartala, the capital of Tripura.
A team of journalists and footballers from CSJC will arrive in Agartala on September 26 for a three-day visit. During their stay, they will also visit several tourist centers in the state and interact with their counterparts from TJU. The match is expected to strengthen the cultural and sports ties between the two neighbouring countries.
The TJU football team is also busy practicing for the match, which will be a showcase of their skills and spirit. The TJU executive committee held a special meeting at the Press Club today to finalize the preparations for the event. The meeting was attended by TJU executive advisor Syed Sajjad Ali, president Pranab Sarkar, general secretary Alok Ghosh and others.
Joint secretary Abhishek Dey outlined the details of the upcoming international event and requested everyone’s cooperation to make it successful. He said that the event is a unique opportunity for the journalists of Tripura and Chittagong to exchange views and experiences on various issues related to media and sports. He also said that the event will promote tourism and goodwill between the two regions.
The meeting was welcomed by secretary Santosh Gope, who also issued a press communique today.
