Agartala, 8th July 2026: West Tripura Member of Parliament Biplab Kumar Deb has taken proactive steps to facilitate advanced medical treatment for young Manashree.
He recently held a virtual conversation with her father to understand her current health condition and discuss the medical care she requires.As part of efforts to ensure comprehensive support from the Central Government, Deb is scheduled to speak with Union Minister for Health and Family Welfare Jagat Prakash Nadda later today regarding Manashree’s treatment.
According to sources, following a request from Manashree’s father, arrangements have been made to advance her appointment at All India Institute of Medical Sciences with specialist Dr. Shafali Galoti, who is experienced in treating her rare medical condition. Preliminary discussions have also been initiated with the Union Ministry of Health and Family Welfare.
Manashree’s father has appealed to the MP for the Central Government’s assistance in securing the life-saving medicine required for her treatment. He has requested that the drug be procured through the Government of India with the approval of the Union Health Minister. He has also urged authorities to explore the possibility of obtaining the medicine through the manufacturer’s Compassionate Access Programme on humanitarian grounds.
Sources said Deb is coordinating with the Union Health Ministry and the relevant authorities to examine all available options. In addition to facilitating Manashree’s immediate treatment, he is also working to ensure that her future advanced medical care proceeds without interruption and that she receives every possible form of assistance from the Central Government.
