Agartala, 22nd June 2024: In a decisive action against drug trafficking, Bishalgarh police launched a raid at the grounds of Bishalgarh Town Girls School seizing two motorcycles belonging to drug dealers. The operation was prompted by a tip-off received on Friday evening, indicating that drug dealers were selling brown sugar to local youth at the school grounds.
Led by ASI Pradeep Natta, the police swiftly moved to the location. However, upon sensing the police presence, the drug dealers abandoned their motorcycles and fled the scene. Despite a vigorous pursuit by TSR personnel and other police officers, the suspects managed to evade capture.
The seized motorcycles were taken to the Bishalgarh police station as part of the ongoing investigation. Authorities have confirmed that this anti-drug operation will be intensified over the coming days.
The Bishalgarh Town Girls School grounds, lacking proper boundaries, have become a notorious spot where youths from various parts of the sub-division gather to purchase brown sugar. This illicit activity has led to an increase in anti-social behavior among the youth, prompting the police to take stringent measures to curb the drug menace in the area.
