Tripura Police Raid in Durganagar: Brown Sugar Seized, Case Registered

Agartala, 23rd March 2025:  Acting on secret information, Tripura Police conducted a raid at Durganagar and seized suspected contraband substances from a local residence.

The raid was carried out at the house of one Bibash Paul (28), where law enforcement officers recovered a total of 85 small plastic vials containing approximately 0.85 grams of suspected brown sugar. The weight mentioned excludes the plastic vials. The operation was conducted while strictly adhering to the provisions under the Narcotic Drugs and Psychotropic Substances (NDPS) Act.

During the raid, the DCM, Khowai, along with two independent witnesses from the local area, were present to ensure the transparency of the proceedings.

Following the recovery, a specific case has been registered under the NDPS Act, and further legal proceedings are underway. Authorities have intensified their efforts to curb drug-related activities in the region, and investigations are ongoing to ascertain any potential network linked to the seized contraband.
