Tripura police seizes cannabis worth Rs 2.5 lakh, two arrested

Agartala, 24th September 2024:   Based on secret information, police recovered 35 kg of dried cannabis and arrested two individuals. The seized cannabis has an estimated market value of approximately Rs 2.5 lakh.

OC Rana Chatterjee reported that the police had received intelligence indicating that two persons would arrive at Agartala railway station for a cannabis transaction. Acting on this information, joint raids were conducted by East Agartala and College Tilla police stations. During the operation, two suspects were arrested in the Jogendranagar area. A thorough search led to the recovery of 35 kg of dried cannabis.

The arrested individuals have been identified as Russell Mia from Sonamura and Kamal Krishna from Malaynagar. OC Chatterjee stated that the suspects has been presented in court on Tuesday, where police sought for their remand for further investigation.
