Over 300 tribal villages to be benefit from PMJUGA: Brijesh

Agartala, 24th September 2024:   As many as 392 tribal majority villages of 52 blocks of 8 districts of the state will be benefitted under centrally sponsored Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA).

Addressing a press conference, Brijesh Pandey, Secretary of Janjati Kalyan Department said that to improve the socio-economic standard of the people of the Janjati section of the country, the Pradhan Mantri Janjatiya Unnat Gram Abhiyan (PMJUGA) will be launched across the country on October 2.

He said that Rs 79,156 crores will be spent across the country to implement this program and 63 thousand villages of the country will be brought under this campaign and for that 5 crore people of the country will benefit from this. This campaign program will continue for the next 5 years.

“In Tripura 392 tribal majority villages of 52 blocks of 8 districts of the state will be brought under this program. In our state around 8 lakh 28 thousand people of the state will benefit from this”, he said.

The official informed that this scheme will be launched on October 2, 2024 in Jharkhand through a ceremony.

“On this occasion, a brainstorming camp is being organized on September 27, 2024 in New Delhi. Various issues have been given importance in this campaign program. These include provision of paved houses, purified drinking water, electricity supply, distribution of Ayushman Bharat cards etc. among eligible Janajati families”, said Pandey.

The official said that in addition, development of road infrastructure for the expansion of communication system in the tribal areas, development of quality education and educational infrastructure, skill development training in livelihood management, development of tourism system in tribal areas, development of agriculture and irrigation system, development of fish farming system, development of mother and child nutrition, Prime Minister Ujjwala Yojana Under it emphasis has been laid on overall development of health services including provision of LPG connection, strengthening of telecom communication system, making people self-reliant, setting up of mobile medical units.

“The Secretary said that through the program, emphasis will also be placed on identifying and eliminating deficiencies in the implementation of various public welfare projects in Janajati areas.
