Agartala, 12th August 2026: Tripura Police has secured the top position among all State and Union Territory police forces in the country for the utilisation of the National Intelligence Grid (NATGRID) during June 2026.
The achievement highlights the state police force’s growing focus on technology-driven and intelligence-based policing, with personnel making effective use of digital platforms to strengthen crime prevention, detection and investigation.
NATGRID is designed to enable authorised law-enforcement agencies to securely access and analyse information from multiple databases. Its effective use helps investigators generate actionable intelligence and supports efforts to identify, prevent and investigate criminal activities.
Tripura Police said the national recognition reflects the sustained efforts of its personnel, along with effective supervision and leadership, in adopting modern technological tools for policing and intelligence gathering.
The No. 1 ranking also underscores the force’s emphasis on improving operational efficiency and investigative capabilities through technology. Officials said the achievement would further encourage the police force to expand the use of NATGRID and other advanced technological solutions.
Tripura Police remains committed to strengthening technology-enabled policing, particularly in the areas of intelligence gathering, crime detection, investigation and prevention, with the objective of enhancing the safety and security of people across the state.
