Tripura Polls: BJP holds Election Committee meeting

Agartala Jan 25: In a bid to finalize the tickets for forthcoming Tripura assembly polls slated to be held on February 16 next, a closed door meeting of the party was held in Agartala here on Wednesday.

The meeting was held under the chairmanship of State BJP president Rajib Bhattacharjee in presence of chief minister Dr Manik Saha, Dy chief minister Jishnu Dev Varman, MoS Pratima Bhowmik, former CM and Rajya Sabha MP Biplab Kumar Deb, State BJP General Secretary Papiya Dutta, Amit Rakshit among others.

According to information from party sources, matters of organizational importance, strategies for ensuring massive win in the forthcoming polls and probable candidate list for all 60-assembly constituencies were discussed in details.

Later, the top leadership of the party headed for Delhi on Wednesday evening itself to take part in the Central Election Committee meeting scheduled to be held at Delhi in presence of party’s central leadership where tickets will be finalized for the polls.
